Family Nurse Practitioner/Adult Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Practitioner

VetFed CareNet is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a proven track record of advanced, medical record review, health assessment, and clinical documentation skills to join its growing team in serving the Veterans. Job Description:

Provide comprehensive, health examinations for Veterans by performing a one-time health assessment (medical disability examination). Interventions, follow ups, treatment plans are not required. Some diagnosis is required.

Perform detailed health exams, complete, and submit VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of the Veteran assessment.

Perform examinations using the Goniometer, Snelling Chart, Tuning Fork, Monofilament for related muskoskeletal, range-of-motion assessments.

Review and interpret medical records including prior labs and imaging.

Ability to formulate a well written, medical opinion with supporting documentation.

Job Requirements:

Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner with at least two years of clinical experience. Advanced assessment experience and skills required.

Experienced Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontological Nurse Practitioner with at least two years of experience having performed a variety of health assessments and proven ability to execute a thorough medical record review, face-to-face encounter with Veteran to complete evaluation, and proven proficiency to produce a timely, accurate, concise, medical opinion followed by supporting evidence.

Experience with the following instruments (Goniometer, Monofilament, Snelling Chart, Tuning Fork) to complete muskoskeletal, head-to-toe, and range of motion assessments.

Experience conducting comprehensive, health assessments such as Veteran Compensation and Pension examinations, Veteran Medical Disability Examinations, Veteran Disability Benefits Questionnaires, DOT examinations, meeting CMS Medicare health assessment requirements, conducting health assessments on hospice patients requiring continued hospice care are a major plus.

Excellent writing and communication skills a must. Self-motivated, self-starter, works very well independently, and as a team player.

Active state, NP license required and accreditation through ANCC or AANP.

AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Experienced, certified and active VA Medical Disability Examiner (MDE)/VA Compensation and Pension (Comp & Pen) Evaluator is a plus.
